IDC develops preliminary cost estimates at a conceptual level
by using our version of the SEMATECH Facilities Cost Model. IDC
developed the model for SEMATECH and is the only entity outside
the SEMATECH membership with the right to use it. The data driving
our cost model are not theoretical; they are derived from field
testing and facility performance data.
