Mechanical Engineering

Value
Our building environmental system designs respond to the requirements of each client, including energy conservation and compliance with all applicable codes.

Services
IDC's mechanical engineers design HVAC, makeup air, recirculation air, process exhaust air, plumbing, and fire protection systems for facility environments ranging from cleanrooms to offices. We are also experienced in the design of central plant systems to serve single buildings or entire campuses.  These typically include chilled water, condenser water, low temperature glycol, heating water, steam generation, compressed air, natural gas, and fuel oil.

Expertise

HVAC systems providing filtered, conditioned air supply to whatever cleanliness level is necessary for a range of applications associated with the microelectronics and pharmaceutical industries.

Plumbing systems for potable water, hot water, sanitary sewers, and storm drains.

Exhaust systems, including ductwork materials and system configuration based on careful consideration of code requirements, redundancy, and flexibility.

Fire protection systems.

Noise and vibration control including sound attenuation on air distribution and vibration isolation of equipment, ductwork and piping systems.

Energy conservation.

Airflow modeling utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology.
